The Boeing Precision Engagement Systems Team is currently looking for a Test and Evaluation Systems Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to join the team based in Sylmar, CA.

We are seeking a mid–senior level Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer with strong LabVIEW expertise and broad experience with industry-standard test automation tools. The ideal candidate will design, develop, integrate, and execute automated test systems for verification, validation, and production test programs in aerospace/defense/industrial environments. This role combines hands-on software/hardware development with test planning, data analysis, and close collaboration with systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and documents standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity.

  • Leads the development of test procedures

  • Applies lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures

  • Designs calibration system/test fixtures

  • Develop data processing tools and algorithms

  • Generates calibration procedures and software

  • Guides others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements

  • Oversees debriefing of the test team

  • Leads the analysis, processing and formatting of data to customer requirements. Approves test data prior to delivery to customer

  • Formulates expectations for test data based on historical data

  • Performs functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity

  • Works under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Strong, demonstrable proficiency with LabVIEW (VI architecture, VI Server, state machines, hardware I/O)

  • Experience with test executives such as NI TestStand, or equivalent test sequencing tools

  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language used in test automation (e.g., Python, C#, C/C++, MATLAB)

  • Experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition hardware (e.g., PXI, DAQmx, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, source meters, megohmmeters, multiplexers, cRio, PID controllers)

  • Good understanding of measurement science, signal processing fundamentals, and calibration methods

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across software-hardware integration and electromechanical systems

  • Experience producing clear test documentation, procedures, and formal reports

  • Effective oral and written communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with version control (Git, SVN), continuous integration for test software, and ticketing systems (JIRA)

  • Experience with other automated test frameworks (e.g., ATLAS, LabWindows/CVI, TestComplete)

  • Familiarity with real-time/hard real-time systems, FPGA integration, or embedded RTOS

  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated industries and knowledge of relevant standards (DO-178, DO-254, MIL-STD)

  • Experience with environmental test chambers, vibration/shock testing, and thermal cycling

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Experienced: $105,400 - $142,600

Summary pay range for Senior: $129,200 - $174,800
