Note: This is a TEMPORARY role for 12+ months, as reviewed and necessary.

SALARY: starting wage of $26.53 + night shift premium

SCHEDULE:

  • Must be work flexible shifts and hours including evening and weekend shifts
  • Primary schedule after training will be NIGHT shift, Monday - Friday, 9:30pm - 6:00am

What’s involved in the Lab Technician role:

  • Directly reporting to QC Manager, the QA Technician is responsible to ensure:

  • Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures are followed.

  • Quality and Food Safety standards are met. This is ensured through a mixture of "time on the floor" monitoring employee practices.                                              

  • Inspecting equipment and premises, and collecting samples/ swabs, and time in the laboratory testing, calibrating, entering data, reporting, sending and receiving shipments.                                                     

  • Must manage time effectively and be able to manage changing priorities.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

  • Plant and equipment inspections to ensure all food safety standards are met.

  • Laboratory equipment calibration, analysis, prep-work, cleaning and organizing.        

  • Sampling, testing and evaluation of ingredients, packaging materials, water, air, products during processing and finished products.                                                      

  • Proactively address GMP deviations by taking corrective actions as per policies and SOPs.                                                   

  • Collect and send samples for outside testing.                                                 

  • GMP, HACCP, CIP, COP, SOPs, and 5S, monitoring, recording, reporting, verifying.      

  • Data collection, data entry, summary, and reporting.                                       

  • Complete list of assigned daily tasks, working alone or in a team.                   

  • Effectively report, hold, sample and re-test materials or products that are outside specifications.                                         

  • Any other duties assigned.

What you need to join our team:

  • 2-4 year Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or Food Technology.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.

  • Good understanding of Quality and Food Safety Program and documentation control.

  • Inquisitive and analytical abilities to solve production quality issues

  • Knowledge of basic food industry lab test methods and HACCP.

  • Flexible Hours and Open Availability

  • Food Production/Manufacturing experience, highly preferred
