As a Technician II, Production Technical Operations (LS1), you will be responsible for operating automated manufacturing and packaging equipment to produce, package, and sterilize contact lenses in accordance with established procedures. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards, while adhering to GMP, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Data Integrity, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
In this role, a typical day will include:
1. To operate manufacturing equipment to produce and/or package contact lenses.
2. To operate autoclave to sterilize contact lenses.
3. Ensure contact lenses are manufacturing to the best quality level possible.
4. Perform activities in compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices in a controlled and regulated environment.
5. To ensure compliance Data Integrity such that information is attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original and accurate.
6. Perform all production activities at various stages under cleanroom environment and to work as a team with cross-functional team member to achieve production targets in compliance with GMP, quality and safety requirements. Handle production tasks and ensures daily target and highest product quality are achieved
Major Accountabilities
1. To maintain the quality standard of Contact Lens manufacturing.
2. To meet the yield, equipment performance and uptime of the LTs being assigned.
3. To perform IPC (in process check) such as Visual Lens Inspection and Operator Packaging check.
4. To schedule contact lenses to be sterilized within 12 hrs.
5. To perform simple machine setup e.g. Ink change.
6. To support maintenance activities and troubleshoot machine issues.
7. To maintain 5S in the production floor.
8. To participate in Kaizen project for continuous improvement in manufacturing performance.
Note: The following physical activities must also be performed repeatedly throughout the shift:
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or other equivalent engineering disciplines.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in production operations, GMP/GDP-regulated manufacturing, or related industries.
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Experience working in a cleanroom environment is an advantage.
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work on rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
