Principal or Sr. Lead Technical Writer
Office hybrid in San Francisco or Seattle
The Content Experience (CX) team is seeking a Principal Content Strategist to drive and scale customer-facing content strategy across clouds with a focus on unifying the power of Industries, Revenue, and Apps functionality. In a time when the synthesis of Salesforce products and clouds has never been more important, we need a senior-level strategic thinker who intimately understands “the box,” but who is not at all afraid to think outside of it. The person in this role will be responsible for ensuring our customer-facing content is optimized, maintainable, and designed for the future of information discovery in the agentic era. Key areas of focus include content readiness for Generative AI and delivering integrated, scenario-based guidance grounded in business context and Jobs to Be Done (JTBD).
You’re a natural, hands-on leader who enjoys both executing and managing complex initiatives, while always maintaining a compassionate eye, ear, and heart for our end users. You’ll work with other leaders across the organization to develop and push key strategic projects over the finish line, leverage data and research to improve the ratings of our most-used content, and directly support product- and cloud-level content strategists. You’ll also serve as a mentor, architect, stakeholder influencer, and cross-organizational partner, on a team where every job is about winning together.
Required Skills and Experience
Extensive content architecture expertise with experience defining and implementing overarching content strategies.
Direct experience with complex, cross-cloud initiatives, such as planning, forecasting, or unifying application functionality.
Experience leading the charge to leverage AI tools to define the future of content experiences and efficiency. Driving content readiness for GenAI models, including content optimization strategies and developing repeatable workflows for GenAI content.
Demonstrated ability to drive large-scale strategic initiatives from research through implementation.
Ability to create and implement project plans for large, time-sensitive, or legacy projects requiring deep product and audience expertise.
Demonstrated skill in shifting content focus from product features to customer use cases and jobs to be done.
Experience identifying content performance improvements through data analysis, usage metrics, and customer feedback.
Confidence in leading collaborative discussions, asking tough questions, and influencing stakeholders across Product Management, Engineering, and UX teams to align on a unified content vision.
Proven track record as a mentor and developmental editor, able to coach senior writers on best practices and content plans.
Deep Salesforce expertise (8+ years progressive experience) and familiarity with the Salesforce platform and ecosystem.
Experience structuring content specifically for consumption and discovery using AI-powered search and conversational interfaces.
Experience managing and maintaining an internal content strategy program, including support and training resources.
Experience maintaining and updating content strategy guidelines and frameworks, including using customer journey maps and jobs to be done to guide content creation.
Experience identifying visual improvements and working with graphics and video teams to enhance content quality and engagement.
