Marvell is seeking a Staff Technical Writer to join the Central Engineering Technical Communication team in Toronto (office location is in Markham), Canada. You would be part of a diverse and inclusive organization, working with people who have background and expertise in engineering, science, and technical documentation and are passionate about improving the customer experience.

Description

  • Work closely with stakeholders in design team to produce accurate, high-quality documentation for advanced process/high-performance IPs

  • Edit and author content using a variety of authoring tools to produce register content, specifications, reports, application notes (and other document types as needed)

  • Produce graphics such as timing diagrams, block diagrams, and flow charts

  • Review technical content and make corrections for grammatical issues and to align to corporate style

  • Conduct document reviews and collect approvals from stakeholders to ensure accuracy of the technical documentation

  • Continuously improve the documentation quality based on review/approval process and feedback received from stakeholders

  • Work with other technical writers in the team to deliver timely documentation that meets quality standards

  • Use AI tools to enhance documentation quality and improve productivity as related to role and business processes

  • Review content for internal newsletter and publish internal newsletter according to schedule

  • Contribute to documentation development lifecycle improvements that enable efficient delivery of quality documentation content

  • Work closely with other talented writers and actively participate in team meetings

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or writing and communication field
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a technical writer or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred: semiconductor experience)
  • Experience with authoring and drawing tools such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio, and Adobe Acrobat and markup/web development languages (preferred: php, HTML)
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Jira (or other bug tracking database)
  • Experience adhering to corporate templates and following corporate style guides
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills with attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a winning, positive attitude
  • Ability to work on a team with geographically distributed members
  • Presence in the Toronto area (or willingness to relocate) and ability to be on site 5 days/week to accommodate work environment
