The Opportunity:

As a Technical Writer, you will assist in providing writing, editing, and formatting support for documents and student lesson handouts.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, develop, and integrate information in documents and lesson materials.
  • Maintain master document control of all assigned documents and publications.
  • Write technical, training, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) publications.
  • Use established designs, write student and instructor guides for lessons.
  • Design, write, and produce checklists, Flight Training Guides (FTGs), and Programs of Instruction (POIs).
  • Enter courseware data into the Training Development Support Cell database.
  • Use mediums and formats such as PDF, WORD, HTML, and XML.
  • Update and maintain assigned publications.
  • Publish Flight Training Guides (FTGs) and POIs.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Secret Security Clearance. 
  • Bachelor degree in English, Communications, or Technical Writing.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience technical writing; two years minimum in a DOD environment.
  • Working knowledge of military formatting for technical manuals, training manuals, and pamphlets.

 Desired:

  • Five years of experience in Special Operations Aviation (SOA)

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$66,400 - $139,600
