The role is part of our Operation Excellence team providing technical support and advice to the operation team and drilling rigs. The Technical Superintendent provides technical support and advice to the rig teams in order for them to deliver a safe and efficient operation in compliance with Noble Drilling requirements, local and interna-tional legislation, and industry standards. You will be placed in the frontline of our technical support working with some of the most advanced drilling rigs and have frequent contact with our offshore employees and clients.

The position is based onshore in Stavanger and travel within the North Sea region, both on- and offshore is to be expected. Employment will be on local employment terms in Norway.

Essential Functions

As our new Technical Superintendent, your primary responsibility will be to monitor the daily drilling operations in terms of optimizing procedures and equipment to improve overall rig efficiency. You act as technical focal point for the offshore maintenance team, monitoring and controlling subcontractors’ workshop repairs of the rig equipment while maintaining good relations with our major equipment suppliers.

Other tasks and responsibilities

  • Incorporate company strategy into the technical daily business
  • Monitor daily drilling and operational activities in view of optimizing procedures and equipment to improve overall efficiency
  • Ensuring that IFS/Maintenance is incorporated in projects and other tasks where information is important in relations to equipment history and maintenance planning
  • Review equipment requirements and coordinate planned maintenance by reviewing monthly reports in collaboration with the teams onboard the rig
  • Provide input to budgets
  • Technically responsible for compliance up against Class and continental shelf requirement.
  • Close communication and collaboration with the technical team offshore and the onshore Rig team

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate holds a theoretical background at Bachelor level or equivalent in a technical discipline or has at least five years of hands-on offshore experience in the oil & gas sector in roles such as Technical Section Leader, Maintenance Engineer, Chief Engineer, or similar. Experience with drilling equipment is required.

You are confident using IT systems and possess strong English communication skills. Familiarity with our maintenance system, IFS, is considered an advantage.
