Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Cardinal Health is seeking a Techno-Functional Lead to drive the design, implementation, and rollout of the Manhattan Active platform and related Warehouse Transformation initiatives across our Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions (PSS) network. This hands-on role combines deep knowledge of warehouse operations with strong technical expertise in WMS configuration, integration, and automation enablement. The Techno-Functional Lead will play a key role in ensuring the successful modernization of Cardinal Health’s PSS warehouse network optimizing processes for scalability, compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business and IT teams to translate operational requirements into scalable, well-architected technical solutions that support warehouse transformation objectives.
  • Collaborate with Functional, Technology, and Enterprise Architects to define, document, and finalize the end-to-end solution architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic direction.
  • Drive implementation of the approved architecture through close partnership with solution vendor and engineering teams, ensuring adherence to design principles, scalability, and delivery of intended business outcomes.
  • Partner with vendors and system integrators to ensure high-quality technical delivery, adherence to requirements, and performance optimization.
  • Coordinate integrations between Manhattan Active, SAP, DSCSA Services, TMS, MHE automation, and enterprise data & integration platforms.
  • Support design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Manhattan Active WMS capabilities to support core warehouse operations, overseeing blueprinting, fit-gap analysis, process design, and technical documentation.
  • Partner with test lead in defining the test strategy, including test data management, end-to-end scenario design, UAT planning, and environment readiness. 
  • Support test execution, defect resolution, go-live, cutover, hypercare, and transition to run.
  • Implement comprehensive end-to-end monitoring and alerting using enterprise tools such as Splunk, BigPanda, and ServiceNow to ensure proactive issue detection and system availability.
  • Provide technical and functional leadership to ensure smooth platform operations and optimized workflows across inbound, inventory, and outbound warehouse functions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Digital Solutions, and Warehouse Operations teams to analyze operational data, identify process gaps, and drive system-enabled standardization and performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to leverage MHE automation (e.g., robotics, conveyors, voice/RF systems) for enhanced process efficiency and throughput optimization.
  • Partner with Pharma Supply Chain IT architects, Digital Solutions, and Warehouse Operations to design, implement, and integrate AI-based solutions into warehouse operations.
  • Explore and drive adoption of AI copilots, computer vision, and automation tools to accelerate configuration, documentation, testing, and operational support processes.
  • Support data governance initiatives to maintain accuracy, consistency, and integrity across warehouse systems and integrations.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Operations Technology, Warehouse Operations, Pharma Supply Chain IT, and vendor partners to ensure cross-functional alignment and timely delivery.
  • Maintain strong alignment with change management and training teams to enable effective user onboarding and adoption across sites.
  • Document SOPs, configurations, and process flows to support standardization, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all system configurations and enhancements comply with Cardinal Health IT resiliency, governance, information security, and regulatory standards.
  • Support audits, validation, and documentation efforts aligned with IT controls, SOX compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong traceability across requirements, design, testing, and data conversion documentation to ensure audit readiness.
  • Ensure AI-based solutions adhere to Cardinal Health’s AI governance and Responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred

  • 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain IT, Warehouse Operations, or related roles, including 2+ years of Manhattan Active or similar WMS implementation experience preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with Manhattan Active WMS configuration, integration, and rollout, including integration with warehouse automation systems (MHE, Robotics).

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and compliance requirements.

  • Solid technical foundation in integration tools, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture (Kafka).

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional design sessions and coordinate between technical and business teams.

  • Experience collaborating with Functional, Technology, and Enterprise Architects to define, document, and implement solution architectures.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive architecture implementation through engineering partnerships, ensuring scalability, resilience, and maintainability.

  • Knowledge of enterprise observability and monitoring tools (Splunk, BigPanda, ServiceNow) to ensure end-to-end visibility and operational readiness.

  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences.

  • Extensive experience owning technical aspects of large-scale program implementations in a matrixed environment.

  • Experience with MHE integration (sorters, conveyors, robotics, voice/RF systems) preferred.

  • Experience or familiarity with applying ML, copilots, and automation tools in supply chain or warehouse operations for process optimization and decision support.

Anticipated salary range: $123,400.00 - $176,300.00
