ABOUT THE ROLE
At Maverick Studios, we blend creativity and innovation to deliver best-in-class content for our brand partners. As we expand our in-house capabilities, we’re looking for a Technical Coordinator to help keep our studio humming, our gear in top shape, and our shoots running smoothly.
This role is perfect for a tech-savvy, solution-minded production pro who loves being behind the scenes—and behind the camera—making the magic happen. You’ll be the go-to for XR studio operations, gear wrangling, and light content capture, with opportunities to grow your skills in virtual production, DIT workflows, and beyond.
What You’ll Do
Studio & Technical Support (Primary Focus)
Own the day-to-day maintenance, organization, and upkeep of our XR/LED studio and equipment
Power up and prep the studio for shoots—including XR wall, Sisu robotic arm, and lighting
Troubleshoot technical issues and keep things running smoothly during productions
Collaborate with the Director of Production Services to ensure the studio evolves with our creative needs
Shoot Support & Capture
Serve as a DIT on video shoots (backing up footage, organizing cards, monitoring media)
Operate camera (often iPhone) for BTS, internal messages, and quick-turn social content
Assist with lighting setups, gear prep, and basic audio/video capture
Provide technical support to creative teams during shoots and live productions
Studio Management
Track, organize, and maintain gear inventory (cameras, lights, lenses, accessories, etc.)
Schedule studio and equipment usage, flag conflicts, and prepare space for incoming teams
Support production setup and teardown, keeping the studio shoot-ready at all times
What You Bring
2–4 years of experience in production, studio operations, or a related technical role
Working knowledge of LED or XR production, or a strong interest in learning quickly
Comfort with camera ops, lighting basics, and DIT workflows (especially with Apple ProRes and RED/Blackmagic/Canon media)
Calm under pressure, highly organized, and always looking for a better, faster, smarter way to do things
A collaborative spirit—able to work across departments and lend a hand wherever needed
Bonus Points For
Experience with Unreal Engine, Disguise, or similar XR/virtual production tools
Familiarity with robotic arms (Sisu or equivalent), motion control, or DMX lighting systems
Post-production chops: Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects
Why This Role Matters
This isn’t just a “gear person” or a “tech for hire”—this is the start of a track toward becoming a Technical Director who helps shape how we achieve creative using the tools and tech at our fingertips. You’ll be part of a nimble, collaborative team that’s building what the future of in-house production looks like—one LED pixel and ProRes file at a time.
