Position Summary
As a Pharmacy Technician you will be responsible for many aspects of the mail order prescription process. You may be assigned to work all areas of the dispensing pharmacy including product selection, packing and shipping.
Tech L1, Dispensing team members are expected to perform any of the following functions: manual filling and packing, fill medications for automated machines, Quality Sampling of medications from automated machine, packing orders using automated packing machinery.
As a Tech L1 you may be asked to support the shipping handler functions such as manually metering packages and placement of packages to be sorted for shipment.
As a Pharmacy Technician, you must possess basic computer proficiency and be able to lift up to 40 pounds. This position requires standing throughout the entire shift. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction across all levels of staff.
Success in this role also depends on demonstrating a high degree of reliability, professionalism, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
We're looking for applicants to be available for the shift listed below:
Sunday: 2:00 PM – 12:25 AM
Monday: 3:00 PM – 1:25 AM
Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 1:25 AM
Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 1:25 AM
Required Qualifications
License Requirement
Must complete IL Certification Requirements within 2 years from the date your license was issued, which includes:
1 ) Passing the CPhT exam and
2) Backend Technician Training Program
Responsibility of maintaining licensure and compliance training
Flexibility to perform duties across multiple functional areas.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to:
- Read and comprehend English
- Perform basic math (including dosage and days’ supply calculations)
Physical ability to:
- Stand for extended periods
- Reach, twist, bend, stoop, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs
Detail focused and task orientated.
Regular and predictable attendance
Colleague will be required to work mandatory overtime/extended work week when needed
Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new processes, technologies, and workflow changes
Preferred Qualifications
Formal Pharmacy Technician training or Pharmacy Tech experience
Experience working in a Mail Order Pharmacy
Certified Pharmacy Technician prior to 2024
Education
Verifiable high school diploma or GED required

The typical pay range for this role is:
$17.00 - $31.30This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
