LOCATION:    Remote UK based

TYPE:                   Permanent, Full - time (37.5 hrs per week)  

Velonetic represents the joint ventures between DXC Technology, the International Underwriting Association (IUA), and Lloyd’s of London. Previously referred to as the London Market Joint Ventures, we have been operating for over 20 years in the London market (Lloyd's and Company), in both insurance and reinsurance business. Processing over £101 billion worth of premium and claims transactions annually. We are building a new digital platform and services that will enable our customers to move transactions and money through the processing lifecycle with greater efficiency and speed, releasing time to drive innovation and focus on higher value activities.

Job Overview  

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead the Velonetic Technical Processing and Support Team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day line management of a team that provides essential support across the business. Key responsibilities of the team include, processing complex premiums, handling service requests from Lloyd’s, collaborating with the taxation team, conducting audits, and supporting premium processing within wider business units.                      This position requires strong leadership and team support capabilities, along with excellent interpersonal, management, and customer relationship skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding organisational and prioritisation abilities and be comfortable adapting to shifting demands and priorities.

Training will be provided for all systems required to perform the role. 

What you will be doing 

  • Forecasting workloads and associated resource requirements - using Control IQ AOM Methodology to continually drive performance improvement.
  • Workflow Management - distributing and managing work across your team to meet business plans, taking corrective action to re-plan and re-prioritise at critical points to ensure daily plans are achieved.
  • Managing Quality - Supporting your team to achieve quality, control and compliance standards, including monitoring compliance of ISAE audit controls.
  • Performance Management - Conducting regular 1:1s and PDRs with team members. Coaching and developing team members. Identifying developmental & training needs and putting effective plans in place to address gaps.
  • Team briefings - holding meetings to communicate daily / weekly / monthly priorities.
  • Deliver Great Customer Service - Manage customer relationships and build effective working relationships with internal & external customers.
  • Manage Change and Innovation Initiatives - Supporting your team through periods of change. 

We are looking for people who have. 

  • Previous experience of managing people and teams especially where your knowledge of their day-to-day role is limited, due to the complex technical nature of their roles.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meeting challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to manage own workload to meeting business requirements and timescales.

  • Strong numeracy, verbal, and literacy skills
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Outlook and MS Office
  • Work to a high level of accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational, personal and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to change focus quickly as business needs change.
  • Commercial awareness & business acumen
  • Involvement in innovation &/ or process improvement projects

Desirable Skills:

  • Workflow management and capacity planning experience
  • Experience/ understanding of Control IQ AOMI Methodology
  • Insurance background, preferably London Market experience
