How we LEAD:
Universal Music Group’s Content Protection Team is seeking a Team Lead to support the execution of UMGs global content protection strategies. The is an exciting opportunity unlike any other, that offers a chance to play a supervisory and pivotal role in combating IP (Intellectual Property) theft at the world's largest music company.
The Content Protection department provides support to all UMG (Universal Music Group) labels and business units worldwide, across multiple time zones. The environment is often fast-paced and allows for opportunities to work on a diverse array of projects related to the management of audio and video content, as well as many other areas of our digital and physical workstreams. This role will suit a dynamic individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for recorded music and technology.
As a Team Lead, you will primarily be responsible for supervising, training and mentoring a group of junior team members, as well as overseeing project assignments.
Bring your VIBE:
•2-5+ years’ work experience in either Music industry or Digital Media, Entertainment, Technology or related fields.
•2-3 years’ experience within anti-piracy, copyright, or trademark infringement.
•1-3 years’ experience either supervising or managing others in a prior role.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree required
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Highly organized with a demonstrated attention to detail
•Self-starter with an ability to work both independently AND with others as a member of a team
•Demonstrated ability to supervise and review the work of others
•Significant understanding of digital technologies, especially music platforms and mobile apps
•Strong organizational skills including follow-through and execution
•Exceptional communication skills, both verbal & written.
•Excellent presentation skills (e.g. PowerPoint) along with a willingness to think critically and speak publicly amongst peers and senior managers.
•Passion for music and digital music platforms!
•Effective leadership abilities; including proper delegation, guidance, and performance monitoring.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
•Fluency in a second language, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish, or Portuguese.
•Understanding of and facility with Excel/Google Sheets, Google Analytics or other analytics tools.
•Experience in development and/or database management (able to work with HTML, Java, Python, SQL, or other common programming languages).
•Data analysis skills.
•Good technical knowledge of the internet.
•Knowledge of new technologies including artificial intelligence, metaverse and cryptocurrency.
How you’ll CREATE:
•Initial label point of contact for leak investigations.
•Provide support to Senior Managers, ensuring objectives set are met.
•Supervise all daily responsibilities and project assignments of the junior team including team meetings, KPIs and team capacity.
•Oversee team projects:
•Assist Senior Managers with the onboarding and training of new team members.
•Assess & review online uses of UMG & UMPG copyrighted works, to ensure compliance with our corporate policies.
•Action unauthorized uses of UMG & UMPG copyrighted works, where deemed necessary.
•Staying informed & abreast of digital trends, related to the recording industry.
•Working with global content protection teams to manage the end of day handover.

Salary Range:
54,906 - 125,662The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
