Job Summary:

The Team Lead - Operations, Risk & Claims Management, West is responsible for overseeing a team of claims professionals to deliver superior client service, ensure compliance with company policies, and drive operational efficiency. This role combines technical claims and risk expertise with leadership responsibilities, including team development, client advocacy, and strategic collaboration. The Team Lead will actively contribute to business growth, service innovation, and continuous improvement while maintaining a client-first, compliance-focused culture.

Responsibilities:

Team Management and Execution

  • Manage team workload to ensure timely follow-ups and closure of open claims.
  • Oversee claims processing to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and service goals.
  • Provide leadership with regular updates on team performance, progress toward goals, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Participate in departmental goal-setting and strategic planning initiatives.

Growth and Retention

  • Support the development of the claims team to meet evolving client, carrier, and organizational needs.
  • Participate in prospective client meetings, conduct claims analysis, and support business development opportunities.
  • Attend client renewal meetings and presentations to strengthen relationships and drive retention.

Culture and Talent

  • Lead and motivate claims professionals by fostering collaboration, accountability, and client-centric service.
  • Conduct recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Provide training, coaching, and recognition to drive performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Solicit and respond to team feedback, resolving issues to maintain a positive culture.

Process Improvement/Technology Optimization

  • Maintain documentation of processes and procedures; communicate policy updates to the team.
  • Recommend and implement best practices to improve efficiency and claims outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to leverage technology and data analytics for process optimization.

Safety and Risk Management

  • Provide technical guidance and consultative advice to clients to reduce claim frequency and severity.
  • Partner with Client Advisors, Account Management team, carriers and risk control representatives to address safety issues and implement proactive risk solutions.

Regulatory Awareness and Industry Engagement

  • Stay current on industry developments, regulations, and best practices affecting claims management.
  • Engage with carriers, vendors, and industry partners to ensure alignment with evolving standards.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure team adherence to company policies and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Monitor claims operations for accuracy, consistency, and ethical standards.

Service Innovation and Revenue Growth

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop differentiated claims and risk management service offerings.
  • Support integration of these services into client solutions to enhance the firm’s value proposition and contribute to revenue growth.

Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure all claims operations are executed with risk mitigation in mind, safeguarding both client outcomes and company interests.
  • Identify potential exposure areas and recommend corrective actions to minimize risk.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Client Advisors, Sales, Service, Risk Control, and Training teams to ensure seamless client service delivery.
  • Partner with the Training Specialist to develop internal and external training initiatives.
  • Provide backup support for claims associates during staff shortages to ensure uninterrupted client service.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, along with a demonstrated attention to detail

  • Proven record of accomplishment of leading a team in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must demonstrate a high level of initiative, be a team player, and display resourcefulness to find win-win solutions for our employees, locations, clients, and the platform 
  • Travel up to 25%

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred, or equitable experience
  • Property & Casualty license required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing Property & Casualty claims and or risk
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficient computer skills with agency management software systems, preference for experience with APPLIED EPIC

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $69,500 - $127,160. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
