Team Lead, Inventory & Shipping

Job Description:

The Inventory and Shipping Team Leader oversees daily shipping operations in a high-volume made-to-order pick-pack environment, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment. This role provides leadership and guidance to the

shipping team but does not entail direct people leadership responsibilities. The Shipping Team Lead monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and drives efficiency in shipping processes. The Shipping Team Lead collaborates

with supervisors and cross-functional departments to maintain quality standards and continuous improvement

initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the work of the shipping team to achieve daily operational goals under the guidance of the
  • supervisor
  • Ensure accurate picking, inspecting and verification of customer orders prior to shipment
  • Monitor and report shift KPIs and ensure adherence to established shipping procedures
  • Support oversight of packaging processes, ensuring shipments comply with documentation and labeling

  • Manage inventory of shipping materials, conducting stock checks and coordinating replenishment
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and support effective stock management
  • Troubleshoot order processing issues using SAP and shipping software to prevent delays
  • Implement and enforce Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including but not limited to Kaizen events, ensuring
  • engagement and representation from the shipping team
  • Review, edit, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for shipping operations
  • Conduct workplace safety and 5S audits to maintain compliance and a safe work environment
  • Train and mentor new shipping associates, ensuring adherence to best practices and company policies
  • Support quality assurance by investigating packaging or labeling issues and collaborating on solutions
  • Ensure compliance with local and global Quality Management System (QMS) standards
  • Assist in internal and external audits as required
  • Support resolution of escalated customer complaints related to shipping inaccuracies or damages
  • Act as point of contact for internal teams and vendors regarding shipping updates
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor or site leadership as needed
  • This position requires participation in a Saturday work rotation with team members.
  • Employees will be scheduled to work approximately two Saturdays per month, subject to operational needs.

Job Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED require
  • Advanced knowledge of shipping processes, materials, and best practices
  • Proficiency in SAP, shipping software, and inventory management systems
  • Ability to role model best practices and continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and inventory tracking
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification a plus)
  • Professional English proficiency (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Must be physically able to stand for long period and lift up to 45 lbs as needed

CRITCAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience serving in a Team Lead position or key resource in a team environment.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.

$30.00 - $32.00 per hour
