Team Lead, General Ledger

We're looking for an experienced General Ledger Team Lead (Japanese Speaker) to join our team. In this pivotal role within our Business Shared Service Center (BSC), you'll manage a team to collaborate with affiliates in Japan to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting while driving process optimization.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

1. Financial Close & Reporting

  • Lead the monthly close process, collaborating closely with the BSC teams (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Preparing supporting schedules for financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts, such as advances, prepaids, and accruals.
  • Be responsible for the timely preparation of consolidated group financial reports using IRIS or other relevant tools.
  • Perform reconciliations between Local GAAP and IFRS GAAP.

2. Accounting & Internal Control

  • Oversee all General Ledger transactions and reporting activities.
  • Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet through reconciliation and perform journal adjustments when required.
  • Conduct internal control activities in accordance with group policies, ensuring robust internal controls for the company.

3. Compliance & Coordination

  • Ensure strong compliance with tax and other local regulations.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Japan affiliates to follow up on transition action plans and provide global visibility on their financial statements.

4. Process Optimization & Team Management:

  • Assist in developing reporting processes for centralization initiatives, aiming for a sustainable cost structure and high-quality deliverables.
  • Act as the key knowledge owner for IRIS reporting (Group Reporting) and provide training to BSC team members.
  • Be responsible for the quality of team deliverables and be involved in or lead Finance Process Improvement Projects from time to time.
  • Assist in the knowledge transfer from selected countries into the BSC.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Fluent in English and Japanese.

  • At least 5 years of experience in an SSC finance & accounting environment.

  • Minimum of 4 team members of people management experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, local, and international accounting standards.

  • Possess strong team player qualities, take initiative, and demonstrate ownership of assigned duties.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong customer relationship skills.
