Tax Transfer Pricing Operations Analyst

Key Responsibilities

1. Transfer Pricing Operational Execution

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual transfer pricing calculations across intercompany service, manufacturing, and intellectual property arrangements.
  • Apply group-approved cost-plus and margin-based pricing models to determine intercompany charges and true-ups.
  • Execute and post intercompany recharges and journal entries within the ERP system (e.g., SAP), ensuring compliance with policy and financial controls.
  • Manage the annual true-up and adjustment process to ensure entity-level profitability aligns with target ranges.
  • Coordinate with Cost Accounting and Operations Finance to validate cost base integrity for transfer pricing purposes.
  • Maintain transfer pricing reference data (mark-up rates, cost driver allocations, entity mappings) within ERP and data warehouse systems.

2. Data Integrity, Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Reconcile intercompany transaction data to ensure accuracy of transfer pricing postings and resolve mismatches or timing differences.
  • Support monthly intercompany balance reviews and document variance analyses.
  • Produce analytical reports for Tax, Controlling, and FP&A summarizing actual vs. target margins and intercompany profitability.
  • Maintain auditable records of all transfer pricing calculations, inputs, and postings to support tax and statutory audits.
  • Reconcile transfer pricing operational data with statutory reporting to ensure alignment between management and legal entity results.

3. Compliance & Documentation Support

  • Assist in preparing documentation for transfer pricing audits, local files, and internal reviews.
  • Ensure that transactional data and calculations align with global transfer pricing documentation maintained by the Tax function.
  • Provide data extracts and calculation summaries for inclusion in Master File, Local File, and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR).
  • Contribute to internal control documentation (SOX, internal audit) related to intercompany and transfer pricing processes.

4. Process Optimization & Systems Enhancement

  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in transfer pricing data flows, models, and reconciliations.
  • Support development and maintenance of transfer pricing calculation tools, working with IT and automation teams.
  • Participate in system testing for ERP enhancements impacting intercompany or transfer pricing functionality.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and desktop guides for all transfer pricing processes.

5. Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the operational point of contact within the FSSC for transfer pricing execution activities.
  • Collaborate with Global Tax, Group Reporting, and Manufacturing Finance to ensure consistent data and policy adherence.
  • Liaise with local finance teams globally to resolve transactional discrepancies and audit queries.
  • Provide analysis and commentary on intercompany performance, margin variances, and operational cost drivers.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in Finance, Tax, or Accounting, ideally within a multinational manufacturing or engineering organization.
  • Strong understanding of intercompany transactions, cost allocations, and transfer pricing operational processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably SAP FI/CO) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working in a shared service or centralized finance function.

Desirable

  • Exposure to cost accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis.
  • Experience supporting transfer pricing compliance (Master File, Local File, CbCR).
  • Familiarity with analytics or automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau).
  • Progress toward a professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CPA, CTA).

  • Accuracy of transfer pricing calculations and postings (>99% target).
  • Timeliness of intercompany recharges and true-up completion versus close calendar.
  • Audit and compliance documentation quality and completeness.
  • Number and impact of process improvements implemented.
  • Intercompany reconciliation resolution rates and cycle time.
