The Work

We’re seeking a Temporary Tax Notice Support Specialist to provide short-term help during a high-volume period. You’ll review tax notices, call agencies, and help keep the Tax Resolution queue moving smoothly. This role is ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable speaking with government agencies.

In this role, you will:

  • Review and triage tax notices in the queue
  • Call federal, state, and local agencies to verify information and clarify required actions
  • Document findings clearly for the Tax Resolution team
  • Provide concise updates to internal teams
  • Communicate root cause and resolution for notices to partners via email
  • Escalate complex or time-sensitive issues as needed

Tools for the job

  • 1–3 years of experience in payroll operations, tax notices, compliance, or similar work
  • Confidence in calling and communicating with agencies
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good time management and ability to work independently

Expected Schedule

  • Hours: 15–25 hours/week
  • Contract Length: Through February (possible extension)
  • Flexible working hours with general daytime availability

What we offer: 

The hourly compensation for this role depends on each candidate’s experience, qualifications, and work location.

• The expected range in San Francisco, NYC, LA, and Seattle is $30–33/hr.
• The expected range for all other locations is $28–31/hr.
