【本ポジションについて】
Support Senior Tax Manager, APAC, with US tax provision, tax compliance and planning projects covering APAC mainly in Japan, may also include China, Hongkong SAR, Vietnam and etc). The position is responsible for tax return preparation, local transfer pricing documentation, tax payable forecasting, assortment mix analysis and statistical reports submitted to governments to ensure tax compliance driven by local tax requirements in Asia-Pacific Region. Work closely within Tax team, accounting team and other business partners internally and externally to achieve key tax compliance risk controls, process optimization and planning objectives. Experience and knowledge with direct and indirect taxes, tax audits and customs audits; personal income tax experience is a plus.

■ Direct and Indirect Tax Compliance and Operation. (35%)
• Prepare all tax compliance filings (e.g., CIT, JCT) on monthly, quarterly and annual bases for JP entity and may also other legal entities and branch offices in Asia-Pacific Region
• Manage local vendors with respect to Japan JCT invoice processes, input VAT claim processes, VAT reconciliations, etc.
• Keep up to date with tax legislation and regulations in APAC region
• Conduct regular self-assessments of tax risk followed up by action plans for identified risks to be mitigated
• Manage intercompany balances and relevant overseas remittance processes, and withholding tax declarations on timely bases
■ Business and Software Transformation. (25%)
• Drive process and systems improvements across Global and APAC tax functions.
• Contribute to all work-streams and post go-live efforts impacting direct and indirect taxes and customs duties – EBS Tax, Vertex, Virtual Trader, OneSource Tax Provision upgrade, etc.
• Lead Japan JCT transformation for all legal entities and branch offices.
■ US Tax Provision. (20%)
• Responsible for ASC 740 tax provision calculation worksheet covering APAC entities on quarterly and annual bases
• Prepare FIN 48 tax reserve analysis (US GAAP), deferred tax assets/liabilities, and tax payable forecasts
• Prepare quarterly Japan limited risk distributor (LRD) calculations
• Monitor tax sensitive operational matters/business activities that may be relevant to tax positions, and assist Senior Tax Manager in mitigating tax exposures and risks to reduce effective tax rate
■ Tax Consulting, Transfer Price, Tax Audit, etc. (20%)
• Conduct regular tax law training sessions for all applicable departments
• Responsible for review of APAC (mainly Japan) transfer pricing reports
• Standardize and optimize transactions and process flows to ensure strategic tax plans are implemented properly
• Coordinate with other teams (e.g., Legal, GAS, Treasury, Logistics) to develop process manuals to meet transaction reporting requirements, such as for importation of goods, DC-to-DC transfers, VAT refunds, etc.
• Support defense of tax and customs audits
• Maintain good relationships with local tax officers, and supervise and monitor deliverables of local vendors

【Education/ Experience】
• Bachelor degree or above; major in Accounting/Finance/Tax or equivalent
• Fluent (both verbally and in writing) in Japanese and English, Chinese is a plus
• Zeirishi (tax accountant) qualification or CPA certificate or equivalent is a plus
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a corporate tax function, or minimum of 4-5 years with a Big 4 accounting firm; industry experience (retail, apparel) is a plus
• Experience in a US-listed company, and US Tax Provision (ASC 740), strongly preferred
• Solid knowledge of Japan tax laws and regulations
• Experience in APAC tax operations and compliance strongly preferred
【Skills/Competencies】
• Knowledge of JGAAP and U.S. GAAP accounting requirements
• High attention to detail, accuracy and analytical skills required
• High level of proficiency in Excel required
• Ability to use OneSource Tax Provision software, and experience with ERP systems such as Oracle and Hyperion, strongly preferred
• Ability to deliver under pressure and tight deadlines
• Willing to adapt, take on new challenges and drive continual improvements to tax provision, reporting and compliance processes
