Job Description:

In the summer of 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the US through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer.  This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables North America (“RRNA”) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.

 

RRNA is actively looking for a 2026 Summer Intern with a focus in Tax. This internship will support the Tax team and will work on various projects to support the renewables business.  If you are passionate about working in a global, inclusive, and collaborative team to provide innovative and sustainable solutions for Repsol and the communities we serve, we want to hear from you.

 

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Tax Interns for our summer program to join our team!

 

This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 18, 2026 – August 7, 2026, in Downtown Houston.    

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on tax laws, regulations and rulings to support planning and compliance.

  • Prepare state and local tax returns and assist with tax account reconciliations.

  • Gather and coordinate information requests from third party tax preparers and advisors.

  • Collect and organize financial and project data for tax reporting.

  • Work as part of a team and communicating effectively with colleagues across functions to achieve project goals.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work/student visa

  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate or graduate Accounting degree program

  • Having previous exposure to the energy industry will be positively evaluated

  • Ability to be self-motivated and high attention to details

  • Exemplary standards of integrity, safety, ethics, quality, and productivity

  • Proficiency with MS applications

  • Self-motivated, organized, and hard-working

  • Strong written and technical writing skills

  • Ability to excel in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as independently.

  • Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills.
