The job of a Tax Compliance is responsible for preparing all aspects of federal income tax compliance, including the preparation of corporate U.S. federal annual income tax returns, detailed supporting workpapers, extensions, estimated tax payments, and maintaining tax filing calendars and ensuring tax filings are accurate. This role supports the strategic and analytical work necessary to process and manage all employment tax & compliance matters across Pet Supermarket.
Essential Duties
· Receives, and maintains applications for business licenses and renewals; computes license fees, complete and file licenses applications timely and process check request.
· Receive, maintain, and file tangible personal property returns timely, review county assessment notices for accuracy, file amendments as needed prior to billing receipts.
· Work with cash forecasting to ensure payment timing and process tangible personal property tax check request as needed.
· Maintain records and calendars necessary to support departmental tax activities, including but not limited to certificates of sales tax exemption, business license and personal property tax filings and payments and responses from tax authorities.
· Respond to field inquires related to tax compliance and licensing.
· Assist with tax audits and gathering the required information
· Assist with special projects, including tax planning or tax recovery projects
· Research tax issues related to compliance
· Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, and proactively apply new required licenses and permits.
· Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close for areas of functional responsibility.
· Responsible for ensuring tax related accounting files and archives are maintained in accordance with company document retention policy
· Support other team members as necessary

· Provide support for internal and external audit
Experience & Education
· Associate’s Degree in accounting or Management
· 1-3 years or related financial experience.
