This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

HPE Nonstop is a complete software stack and offers a rich suite of security products to protect Nonstop workloads and data - be it the new crypto, standards compliance, auditing, new security design in the enterprise and so on. Nonstop comes with its own unique security architecture that has continued to protect the Nonstop deployments over time. The portfolio of security products is enhanced at regular intervals to stay with times and ahead of the curve.

At Nonstop, we have been studying the trends, listening to our customers, and looking at ways to not only make Nonstop secure but also enable customers to secure their Nonstop environment and implement corporate security practices for their Nonstop infrastructure. Given that Nonstop is a complete software stack, we look at it in terms of – a) security infrastructure available in the platform for customers and application developers protect and secure the information flow b) Integrate into Enterprise’s Authentication and Access control architecture c) implement modern cryptography d) help customers monitor their Nonstop workloads using modern tools and techniques e) implement advanced forensics to track user actions f) help customers implement regular compliance measures and demonstrate compliance g) monitor emerging threats from a technology landscape, research and scout for solutions.

What you'll do:

  • Design, develop software enhancements, new products and maintain software for Nonstop's security product portfolio

  • Engage in the full product development lifecycle including specification, architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration.

  • Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary

  • Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to define software functional specifications and system architecture.

  • Develops and analyzes design, determines coding and integration activities, writes and executes complete test plans required based on general objectives and knowledge of the overall architecture of the product or solution

  • Collaborates and communicates with all stakeholders effectively, representing the status, issue resolution for responsible scope

  • May lead a team of engineers , providing technical leadership to develop high quality components for the assigned product or subsystem. Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

  • Typically 4+ years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages. Advanced C/C++ programming and scripting skills

  • Strong knowledge of security basic concepts (authentication, access control, auditing, ciphers, cryptography, key management, etc) 

  • Hands-on experience in the design and development of security products and features (e.g. SSL, SSH, IPSEC) on Linux or similar UNIX systems.

  • Good understanding of secure design, programming

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Fundamentals of operating system and/or networking concepts

  • Software systems testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
