Engineering Enablement and Solutions (EES) was formed with the vision to deliver and sustain software solutions for the engineering function. The engineering function comprises about 9 disciplines with the largest user’s base being Project, Systems, Software, Mechanical and Electrical discipline. A signification energy within EES is dedicated to a one Collins Product Lifecycle Management Solution.

This is a leadership role for someone passionate about shaping the digital engineering landscape—reducing barriers, improving performance, and enabling seamless collaboration.

 This role is responsible for defining and executing the strategy that empowers systems engineering teams to innovate and scale efficiently through the right digital tools, platforms, and workflows implementing technology enabled solutions in alignment with the EES organization’s overall platform and infrastructure, RTX and Collins strategies.

** This is a hybrid position that requires the candidate to be within driving distance of a major Collins Aerospace facility. **

What YOU will do:

  • Define and execute a multi-year roadmap for systems engineering toolchain modernization, including requirements management, systems modeling and analysis and managing various "ilities". Partner with discipline leadership and the SBUs to influence business strategy, especially in your area of ownership. Leverage and Influence AI and other emerging technologies as applicable

  • Define and maintain current the EES System Architecture in collaboration with the Business, Engineering Disciplines and Enterprise Architecture teams.

  • Oversee the utilization and alignment of Systems Engineers to various EES initiatives.

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of software and toolchain implementations—selection, customization, deployment, and support. Lead the configuration, deployment, and lifecycle support for systems engineering platforms (e.g., Cameo, TWC, Matlab, Doors), including integration with PLM and other discipline tool ecosystems.

  • Bring customer centricity to your entire team. Proactively partner with Systems Engineering leadership to understand pain points, assess gaps, and deliver high-performing, user-centric solutions. Ensure seamless collaboration across electrical, mechanical, systems, and software disciplines by enabling common data models, shared libraries, and co-design environments.

  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory compliance.

  • Foster an action-bias culture; Establish KPIs, SLAs, and performance tracking to ensure continuous improvement in DT service delivery and user.

  • Build a high performing culture, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of solution managers, analysts, and engineers; promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration. Hire, retain, and scale a world-class team.

  • Oversee and manage vendor relationships and licenses for key systems engineering tools, ensuring cost optimization and compliance with tool vendors.

Qualifications YOU Must Have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder)

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience.

  • Strong understanding of digital engineering implementation in electrical and electronics product development in a stage gate development process.

  • Proven ability to drive engineering transformation through toolchain modernization.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proven success in deploying software/tools for engineering or technical user bases

  • Deep knowledge of system engineering, design, and simulation tools (e.g., cameo, team work cloud, MATLAB, Syndeia, 3DX, doors, and Polarion).

  • Exposure to model-based systems engineering or Agile/SAFe implementation in an engineering context.

  • Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, automotive, defense).

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
