The Team: Platform team is a part of R&D organization combining XDB and TEM systems and modules. We are multidisciplinary team committed to deliver innovative technologies related to Electron & Ion Beam Microscopy. We design and deliver building blocks for complex solutions applied in Material Sciences, Life Sciences and Semiconductor business.
The Position: As a Systems Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing detection systems and components. You will work alongside multi-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects and contribute to the overall growth and success of our organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Working in compliance with legislation and IMS (required for all).
- Develop new products while adhering to internal/external standards and processes, considering cost, specifications, and timelines.
- Closely cooperating with HW and SW development groups and systems and quality engineers.
- Active searching for technology opportunities and improvements to reduce product price and improve overall performance.
- Participate on product design regarding its SW and HW form, performance and features.
- Apply cross-science principles (including: particle physics, mechatronics, signal & image processing etc.) to development projects and translating theoretical knowledge into practical applications or experiments.
- Actively involve in research and development by planning, completing experimental testing, and reporting results. Support the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project breakthroughs and objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of practical use of technical documentation, basic design principles, technical materials.
- Excellent creative thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose effective solutions.
- Experience with Python programming language is beneficial.
- Experience with laboratory work is beneficial.
- Knowledge and experience with electron microscopy is beneficial.
- Ability to communicate, present, and discuss results of its work.
- Active English – able to easily communicate.
