Our work depends on a Systems Administrator Senior joining our program's Infrastructure team to support and perform Windows, VMware, and Linux environment system integration/implementations and upgrades, monitor system operations, verify systems availability, and work proactively, collaboratively, and with an entrepreneurial spirit in providing O&M support to the customer and their Stakeholder communities in achieving their critical missions.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:


• Interact closely and coordinate with multiple program teams, managers, and SMEs to stay up-to-date on progress and ahead of issues
• Help resolve issues/impediments teams might have in meeting deliverables and/or schedule milestones
• As needed, serve as a Windows/Linux Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned efforts
• Develop and maintain task/project schedules
• Work with change control, service ticketing, and associated workflow documentation

• Perform Level 2 support of systems and maintain system configurations and documentation
• Monitor and report on performance and provide recommendations for improvement
• Participate in on-call and after hours patching rotation.
 
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
  • Experience: 3+ years of related experience
  • Required Technical Skills: experience administering current releases of Windows and Linux; experience with systems management and patching
  • Security Clearance Level: Public Trust (DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability)
  • Required Skills and Abilities: ability to identify project risks, perform high level research, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Solid communication and technical writing skills, including but not limiting to drafting agendas and progress reports; good organizational skills;
  • Proficient with MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel;
  • Ability to run meetings and motivate teammates to complete tasks on schedule

• Preferred Skills: 5+ years related experience; bachelors degree in systems engineering, computer science, information technology/systems, or other relevant field of study; experience with VMware, AWS GovCould, Ansible, and ServiceNow ITSM

The likely salary range for this position is $93,075 - $125,925. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
