The Virtual Workspace Engineer is a member of a global IT team, responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting virtual desktop solutions that enable secure and flexible work-from-anywhere experiences. This role focuses on delivering high-performance, scalable, and secure virtual workspace environments tailored to the needs of a modern, distributed workforce. Reporting to the Manager of Digital Workspace Management, the Engineer manages backend systems and configurations, including image creation, policy management, and application delivery. The role collaborates with global IT teams to resolve issues, drive automation, and continuously enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
What we’re looking for
Education: High school diploma required, associate’s degree or technical certification in Information Technology or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies or cloud-based workspace platforms in an enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience (2+ years) in configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting virtual desktops, including image management, session performance, and application delivery.
Working knowledge of access policies, profile management, and automation in virtual workspace environments.
Familiarity with backend systems that support virtual workspaces, such as identity providers, endpoint management platforms, and monitoring tools.
Experience integrating virtual desktop solutions with enterprise IT services and ensuring alignment with security and compliance requirements.
Understanding of IT security best practices related to virtual environments (e.g., multi-factor authentication, secure access, session policies).
Basic knowledge of identity and access management concepts (e.g., directory services, single sign-on) is beneficial.
Exposure to additional workspace technologies, such as remote application streaming or hybrid desktop models, is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across global teams.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of virtual desktop infrastructure and cloud workspace platforms.
Familiarity with virtual desktop management, including image handling, session control, and access policies.
Awareness of endpoint security and compliance standards for virtual environments.
Basic knowledge of identity and access management integration.

Develop and enforce provisioning workflows, access policies, and usage standards to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant virtual workspace operations.
Ensure that virtual desktop infrastructure is optimized, up to date, and aligned with global standards and security requirements.
Support integration between virtual workspace platforms and related services (e.g., identity providers, endpoint management, monitoring tools).
Monitor platform performance, session health, and user access; proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure a seamless user experience.
Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex issues related to virtual desktop access, session performance, and user profile management.
Document configurations, deployment processes, and technical standards to support consistent and reliable operations.
Collaborate with global IT and support teams to align virtual workspace configurations with service delivery requirements.
Research emerging technologies and features to improve platform performance, automation, and user experience.
Ensure ongoing compliance with enterprise security policies and regulatory requirements for virtual desktop environments.
Participate in or lead technical projects related to platform upgrades, expansions, and operational improvements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
