Queretaro Operations Full time

Main Responsibility:

Under general supervision, the System Engineer applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to research, develop and design electrical control systems for floor maintenance equipment. General tasks include embedded control system design and development, wire harness design, printed circuit board (PCB) design, and membrane switch design. Other tasks include the specification of test procedures for components and assemblies for the purpose of evaluating the performance and reliability of prototype and production models.  In addition, troubleshooting support for manufacturing or technical service may be required occasionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of functional specifications for floor cleaning equipment.

  • Create or assist with the development of schedules, work plans and priorities for the electrical system projects

  • Defines electromechanical device specifications and makes decisions on component selection

  • Develop detailed system requirement documentation for control system hardware and software

  • Assist in the development of detailed test requirements and test plans for the control systems to carry out functional, operational, and reliability testing

  • Assist with failure analysis of control system components/assemblies for in-line or field failures.

  • Assist with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing and approvals

  • Author Engineering Change Notice (ECN) for electrical systems revisions

  • Create various documentation and/or reports for development projects to support other departments such as marketing, service, technical publications, and manufacturing

  • Write technical reports and develops charts, graphs, flowcharts, and schematics to describe and illustrate system’s operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications

  • Prioritize tasks for the efficient completion of assigned duties.

  • May give work direction to technicians.

  • Control system development will typically be a mixture of in-house activities in conjunction with external engineering resources. Specific design duties may include (but are not limited to:

  • Electronic and/or electromechanical component specification and selection.

  • Control circuit design and schematic capture.

  • PCB design and layout.

  • Control system assembly design and layout.

  • Microcontroller programming in C, C++ and/or Python language.

  • Programming documentation using flowcharts.

  • Membrane switch design.

  • Wiring harness and/or cabling specification and design.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

  • 4 to 8 years experience in electrical and electronic system design

Qualifications & Skills:
