Position Summary / Career Interest:

This role serves as a liaison between providers, clinical informatics, and IT to improve the use of Epic and other clinical applications. This role is responsible for designing and delivering provider education, leading optimization sessions, managing the SWKC O2 Library education content, and supporting specialty-specific workflow improvements across markets. The Specialist partners closely with the CMIO office, Physician Informatics, and Application Optimization Instructors to ensure sustainable adoption of best practices and system enhancements. Additionally, this role serves as the Owner and Approver of the SWKC Provider Practice Council, ensuring that provider-driven requests and initiatives are appropriately reviewed, prioritized, and implemented.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and maintain Epic tipsheets, quick reference guides, job aids, and CME training content.
  • Lead one-on-one personalization labs, group optimization sessions, and drop-in office hours for providers.
  • Troubleshoot provider workflows in real time, assisting with orders, In Basket, SmartPhrases, SmartSets, and documentation tools.
  • Design and maintain SharePoint document management structure for education materials, including metadata, tagging, versioning, and governance processes.
  • Manage approval workflows and coordinate with compliance, leadership, and provider informatics teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of published education.
  • Aggregate and track optimization requests, signal data, adoption metrics, and ticket outcomes for reporting to leadership.
  • Support specialty-specific builds and workflows (OB, Pediatrics, Pulmonology, Urology, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine).
  • Provide structured onboarding and access support in collaboration with IT and OAM (desktop setup, Voalte, AMS Connect, Dragon mics).
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement across Physician Informatics, CMIO leadership, compliance, and provider education teams.
  • Serve as the Owner and Approver of the SWKC Provider Practice Council, facilitating provider engagement and decision-making for optimization priorities.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate
  • 3 or more years direct patient care experience
  • 5 or more years informatics experience
  • 5 or more years training experience

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor Degree Nursing
  • Previous management experience

Required Licensure and Certification
  • Cerner Verified Training
  • EPIC Proficiency/Certification

Preferred Licensure and Certification
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing
  • Informatics Nursing Certification (RN-BC) - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
