Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the engineer overseeing sustainment of the tactical shipboard data subsystem in the fire control branch for multiple submarine hull classes.
  • You will be responsible for technical and project management functions related to this equipment including: planning, programming, budgeting, contracting, and providing ongoing management of subsystem operations and other support operations.
  • You will identify, develop and implement recommendations/solutions to problems, risks, and potential outcomes to mitigate risk to support the entire life cycle including: performance of studies and engineering analyses to meet the needs of the fleet.
  • You will resolve engineering management problems involving differing views of other engineers and scientists within and outside the agency or in foreign governments.
  • You will develop solutions for technical, schedule, and cost problems in accordance with branch priorities to support external program requirements.
  • You will serve as the chair for assigned working groups managing teams comprised of government and contractor personnel.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and managing the development, testing, evaluation, production, or deployment of systems designs and Federal procurement.
