Position Summary:

As a Surgery Controller, you’ll play a key role in coordinating surgical schedules and ensuring smooth communication between departments, physicians, and clinical staff. This position requires strong attention to detail, multitasking, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain accurate daily and future surgery schedules
  • Coordinate with anesthesia, charge nurses, and physician offices for scheduling and updates
  • Compile call schedules and assist with high-volume phone communications
  • Relay time-sensitive information to staff, departments, and vendors
  • Notify staff of early starts and assignment changes
  • Communicate equipment and supply needs for special procedures
  • Ensure schedules align with staffing, equipment, and supply availability
  • Support departmental flow and problem-solving across units

What You’ll Need:

  • High School Diploma required; Medical Office Administration Certificate or higher preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in surgery scheduling or acute care setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to remain professional and composed in high-pressure situations
