SUPVERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the MRO Engineering Department, Technical Data and Documentation Office of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Major Duties:

  • You will set policy and procedures regarding technical data for the command
  • You will establish office policies and the efficient utilization of the personnel and other resources with budgetary guidelines.
  • You will analysis staff research, technical data availability and logistics plans in order to provide for and plan appropriate technical data support.
  • You will review major technical recommendations and decisions to determines effects on plans and actions.
  • You will review the quality and quantity of work accomplished and applies corrective actions as required to resolve problems encountered and to improve performance.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Mastery of advanced concepts, principles and practices of the broad field of logistics management that enables the incumbent to serve as an authority in the development of System Command instructions, procedures and guidelines and to provide expert advice and guidance to headquarters and field Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) personnel. 2) Ability to evaluate and incorporate the latest developments in the field into guidelines. 3) Thorough knowledge of NAVAIR policies and procedures relating to technical data management; automated interchange of technical information standards, regulations and specifications; and configuration management principles. 4) Knowledge of DOD planning programming and budgeting system. Thorough knowledge of DOD budget processes; administrative relationships within the Navy and DOD; and administrative relationships within the Systems Command and field activities. 5) Program Management within a major industrial complex. Knowledge of accepted managerial and administrative techniques to manage and direct both professional and nonprofessional personnel as an integrated unit. 6) Ability to prepare and present convincing oral and written presentations to any or all levels of Government and industry management to effectively prove and justify significant deviation from established ILS policy; defend necessary modifications to previously approved plans, etc. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
