What’s the role?
As a Supply Chain Lead, you will lead the end-to-end Category Management and Contracting Process (CMCP) for a defined portfolio, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of materials, equipment, and services. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive value creation, operational excellence, and strategic alignment with Shell’s business goals, including DEI, local content, and contractor safety.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage the full CMCP lifecycle: from strategy development and tendering to post-award contract management and performance oversight.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, and Material Management teams to ensure seamless supply chain execution.
- Ensure timely procurement of OEM spares aligned with specifications and delivery expectations.
- Leverage Enterprise Framework Agreements where feasible, balancing cost, reliability, and after-sales service.
- Conduct vendor evaluations, finalize fit-for-purpose contracts, and ensure compliance with Shell’s CMCP policies, HSE standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Proactively renew expiring contracts to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Support inventory optimization by setting norms for safety stock, reorder levels, EOQ, and max levels in collaboration with Engineering/Maintenance.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for consistent quality and specification adherence.
- Manage logistics and customs clearance for imported items per agreed Incoterms.
- Drive supply chain transformation initiatives, including ERP implementation and continuous improvement.
- Champion data quality excellence through integrated collaboration across Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Engineering.
What we need from you
- Graduate of Engineering or Supply Chain Management with 5–6 years of experience in sourcing strategy development and contract management within an asset-based setup.
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering integrated value and execution excellence.
- Hands-on negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships and market engagement.
- Ability to align procurement strategies with business objectives and drive consistency across operations.
- Expertise in category strategy development, supplier performance management, and post-award contract execution.
- Familiarity with buying channels (GCC, SAPO, Lean Sourcing) and delivery models (BU/Category).
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
- A learner mindset with agility, adaptability, and leadership capabilities.
- Experience in risk oversight, contractor performance assessment, and compliance with legal and Shell requirements.
