The Role / Position Overview

This junior editor position, to be based in Beijing, reports directly to the Editor in Chief of FTChinese.com and is responsible for producing and coordinating supply chain related coverage for FTChinese.com. Responsibilities include:

  • Research, planning, reporting and writing supply-chain related interviews, stories, news analyses and in-depth reports.

  • Planning and producing podcasts, videos and other formats of supply chain-related content.

  • Selecting supply chain related stories from FT.com to be translated and published on FTChinese.com.

  • Working closely with other FTChinese editors and producers to ensure the speedy production and publication of supply-chain related content.

  • Frequent travels domestically and internationally to attend business conferences, conventions, conduct interviews and research trips.

  • Assisting with FTChinese conferences, seminars and other marketing operations related to supply chain.

Requirements include

  • Excellent research, interview, reporting and writing skills in both Chinese and English. Other languages are a plus.

  • At least 3 years of full-time or combined part-time working or education experience in business, science, technology, finance or journalism.  Supply chain-related journalism and research experience with industry-leading organizations would be a strong plus.

  • Able to cope with tight deadline pressure and work seamlessly across different media formats.

  • Able to handle frequent travel and flexible working locations and hours. In particular, the job may require the candidate to spend a considerable amount of time every year travelling in key technology and manufacturing hubs such as the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta.
