Supplier Quality Engineer

Kimball Electronics Romania Full time

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team and drive supplier performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal departments to address and resolve supplier-related issues.
  • Coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to assess and manage quarantined materials.
  • Initiate and track supplier claims, ensuring timely and compliant closure.
  • Request and approve PPAP packages based on required levels and customer specifications.
  • Monitor supplier performance using metrics such as Defective Parts per Million (DPPM) and scorecards.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance procedures for incoming materials.
  • Maintain accurate supplier quality documentation, including certifications, self-assessments, and audit records.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support continuous improvement.
  • Plan and conduct supplier audits to evaluate compliance with quality requirements and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate the Incoming QA Inspector team, ensuring effective execution of incoming inspection activities and alignment with quality standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience in supplier quality or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of PPAP, APQP, ISO 9001, and other relevant quality standards.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Computer literacy (MS Office,  SAP systems – a plus).
