Salary Range: $167328 - $195200 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the FLEET SUPPORT TEAM of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for and provide high-level direction and leadership to all Fleet Support Team engineers, engineering technicians and scientists.
  • You will direct and provide oversight for the technical management required for major upgrades and engineering changes required to sustain Naval Aviation Aircraft, Weapons and Support Systems throughout their complete life cycle.
  • You will provide technical information or requirements to systems acquisition managers to support new/upgraded acquisitions.
  • You will initiate the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of all program elements, including establishing goals and objectives for each Fleet Support Team to meet the established mission.
  • You will assist with and ensure the development and implementation of new engineering concepts, corrective actions and changes to reflect new requirements, technologies and improved product support techniques.

Qualifications: In addition to the basic requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-14) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing engineering expertise, competencies, and disciplines; 2) Serving as an engineering technical authority, including roles as a Subject Matter Expert or Deputy ; 3) Supporting the development of engineering initiatives to improve maintenance performance and efficiency; and/or 4) Identifying and forecasting resource requirements (funding, labor, facilities, etc.).
