Job Summary: This position is part of the Loan Programs Office, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Budget Analyst, you will provide analysis, information and decision support material to assist Loan Programs Office (LPO) Directors and other LPO management in planning, budget formulation, and budget defense to facilitate meeting LPO's corporate mission and goals.

Major Duties:

  • As a Supervisory Budget Analyst, you will: Directs and manages the formulation, justification, and execution of the Loan Program Office budget. Recommends fund reprogramming or redistribution to senior management based on program changes. Conducts and oversees the execution and review of the approved budget, ensuring proper allocation and obligation of funds. Provides expert advice and guidance on acquisition regulations, policy development, and procurement issues to LPO and DOE officials. Manages tracking, obligation, and expenditure of funds, ensuring compliance with procurement policies. Plans, directs, and evaluates the work of subordinate personnel, establishing work schedules, deadlines, and performance measures.

Qualifications: BASIC REQUIREMENT: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Managing the tracking, obligation, and expenditure of significant financial resources, ensuring strict compliance with established fiscal controls and reporting requirements. Evaluating the work of a team of budget or financial professionals, including setting performance standards, managing workflow, and ensuring the delivery of financial products. Developing and/or implementing financial methodologies or systems for long-range planning, cost analysis, or integration of financial data with strategic objectives. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
