Major Duties:

  • You will manage all aspects of the NAVSEA RADIAC Calibration Standardization Program, the NMCLANT OSE and MD Radiation Safety Program, and the NAVSEA RADIAC Instrument Calibration Course.
  • You will provide engineering support to customer commands.
  • You will serve as Branch Head and supervise all subordinate staff in the assigned Branch.
  • You will direct, coordinate, or oversee work of subordinates or contractors.
  • You will establish and maintain a series of instructions and Navy Radiation Material Permits (NRMPs) for all RADIAC program operations at the Yorktown and Mayport facilities.
  • You will provide safety engineering advice and guidance to Department personnel, and remains concerned with the Identification, analysis and control of occupational hazards in maintenance and production processes.
  • You will monitor and evaluate Radiation safety practices for all RADIAC Program operations.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Experience with interpreting and following NRC, CFR, and NAVSEA policy and directives. 2. Experience with preparing formal correspondence in response to audit reports, policy changes, and standardization reports. 3. Knowledge of ionizing radiation detection principles and the different types of ionizing radiation. 4. Experience with the radiation standards, processes and procedures. 5. Knowledge of the RADIAC Instrument Calibration Course. 6. Knowledge of general personnel management policy matters, such as personnel actions affecting employees and other actions with significant repercussions to the individuals managed and to the organization as a whole. 7. Extensive knowledge and skill in oral and written communications as well as an in-depth operating knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytical processes with reference to ionizing radiation measurements.
