  • Full- Time; M-F
  • 7am - 3:30pm
  • Area: Radiation Oncology- Hematology, Bone Marrow Transplant
  • Location: LUMC, Maywood, IL

About the Job

In this role, the Supervisor, BMT & Cellular Therapy Lab, directs the daily operation of a given laboratory shift to ensure the precision and reproducibility of laboratory test results in accordance with accreditation standards and guidelines. *Experience with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in a "clinical" laboratory setting through education or work experience required** Overseeing Bone Marrow Transplant processing lab.

Here's what you'll do

  • Directs the daily operations of the shift to effectively utilize resources including staff, equipment, space and supplies.
  • Manages staff resources in order to meet the needs of the laboratory which includes hiring qualified employees to fill open positions.
  • Evaluates and documents employee performance per policy. Identifies and documents human resource issues.
  • Implements and monitors individual work improvement plans in order to improve employee performance
  • Serves as the key contact person for nursing and medical personnel and serves as a resource for employee decision making
  • Performs all laboratory testing, including the pre-examination phase in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care.

Required:

  • Associates Degree
  • Specify Degree(s): Associates or Bachelors Degree in Medical Lab Sciences, Biology and/ or Chemistry
  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required:

  • Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or AMT)
  • Certified Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, laboratory discipline specific or specialty certificate (ASCP or AMT)

Compensation:

Annualized pay Range: $66,560.00 – $107,348.80 per year.

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
