We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer Intern within our Life Cycle Space & Airborne Center. Our Space & Airborne team in Warner Robins, GA integrates hardware and software; develops and executes test plans; evaluates system functions and interfaces; and verifies requirements to support final customer sell-off. We build and exercise systems in the lab and field, analyze performance, and ensure our products work reliably. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, help solve daily engineering challenges, and gain broad exposure to all aspects of system integration and test.

In this role, you will work directly with customers to develop CONOPS, system architectures, and requirements, and manage qualification, verification, and validation efforts. Our center focuses on sustainment, repair design, and transitioning systems from production through integration, test, warranty, and long-term support. You will also perform functional and physical analyses, requirements allocation, and trade studies.

This is a full-time onsite position at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, GA. 

What You Will Do

  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root-cause and corrective-action processes, using advanced lab or field test equipment.
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain engineering specifications (DS, ARD, etc.) and drawings (schematics and assembly drawings).
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering IPTLs.
  • Participate in periodic team meetings, teleconferences, and working group meetings.
  • Support sustainment/depot returns and repairs.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree and will be entering their Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate year.
  • Experience with tools, such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronics-related technical issues, including the use of common commercial test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers). 

Qualifications We Prefer  

  • Adept at transitioning between different responsibilities efficiently and prioritizing competing demands effectively.
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communication protocols
  • Experience reading software routines and integrating them with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred
  • Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including applying scripting or automation for data collection and analysis

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
