Note: This is either a 4-month or 8-month full-time term, starting in May 2026.
Analysis and processing of fund investment financial statements
Assisting with the determination of credit ratings for private debt investments
Assisting with preparation of valuation recommendations for private investments across different asset classes
Preparing of valuation models
Drafting of Valuation Committee recommendation memos for quarter-ends
Drafting and developing market reports/snapshots for key regions and industries of significant investments
Contributing to the creation of valuation database to enable time series reporting of assumptions and results, and involvement with processing data from AIMCo’s systems for use by internal and external clients
In pursuit of a degree in Math, Statistics, Finance, Accounting with basic knowledge in accounting
Proficient excel skills and an interest in developing programming skills (SQL, VBA etc.) or exploring emerging technology would be considered an asset
Enrollment in or appetite for any certification streams (e.g. CPA, CFA, CBV, FRM) is an asset
Involvement in any student organizations pertaining to the investment industry is advantageous
Significant interest in the capital markets industry
Prides themselves on their exceptional attention to detail and curiosity
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Proven track record of outstanding academic achievement and performance

If you are a success-motivated student, you will be able to reflect on your time on the valuations and be proud of how much you learned and grew as an aspiring professional. You will deliver near error-free reports and develop a reasonable understanding of complex valuation procedures. You will learn about problem solving and critical thinking and be expected try to solve your own issues before seeking guidance from your team members. If your work quality impresses, you will be asked to do research on valuations best practices and present to the team where there may be room to implement changes.
