The Opportunity:
WSU Tri Cities is now accepting applications for a Student Counselor & Wellness Coordinator. In this key role, you would be responsible for the coordination of the campus student mental health services and resources. As the Student Counselor & Wellness Coordinator you are accountable for developing, leading and implementing innovative services that expand and promote mental health and wellness; providing resources that are accessible to assist with student success, persistence and retention.
You will specifically provide counseling services to students in individual and group sessions, respond to crisis situations, provide risk assessments, mental health evaluations and interventions when needed. In this role you will also develop and deliver mental health educational programming, training and consultations. As the Student Counselor & Wellness Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with campus, the WSU system, and community partners to develop new programs and services. 
The Student Counselor & Wellness Coordinator is a member of the Student Services team, in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs with attention to being responsive, innovative and results-orientated. You will report to the Director of Student Services.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area.
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements
Position requires a master’s or doctorate degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology, Social Work or equivalent mental health graduate degree from an accredited institution.
Two (2) years of professional therapeutic, consultation and psycho-educational programming experience. A Doctorate degree in one of the related fields may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
Must be licensed or have an associate license as a mental health counselor, social worker, psychologist or family therapist in the State of Washington.
Demonstrated experience counseling at-risk university students or populations with similar mental health concerns.
Demonstrated experience with public speaking, presenting to small and/or large groups, and development of written training materials, psycho-educational lectures and workshops.
Demonstrated experience in providing crisis intervention and consultation.
Ability to work as a team.
Interest in wellness or prevention approach to delivering mental health services to campus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Counseling or mental health clinical experience in a university setting.
Experience providing consultation.
Experience supervising undergraduate and/or graduate trainees.
Bilingual/biliterate.

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
This is an on-site/in-person role located on the WSU Tri Cities campus, in Richland, WA.
Monthly Salary: $4,386.85 - $5,837.38 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
