Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a Senior Stress Analysis Engineer to join the Philadelphia Design Center located in Ridley Park, PA.  

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and performing highly complex structural analysis using tools such as CSW, Patran/Nastran, Hyperworks, and Abaqus, and will have a very strong background with classical analysis methods and aircraft components and functions. The selected candidate will report to Daniel Meloche.

Position Responsibilities:  

Candidate will be responsible for being on-site and working with team to develop analysis plans, check and/or approve analysis, mentor team members, and produce high-quality structural analysis of critical aircraft components. Candidate will plan and organize structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements. Candidate will develop, integrate and document complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design. Candidate will coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment, and guide product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance of the product. Travel and overtime may be required at times.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An active Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):  See Education/Experience below for this level

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering in the aerospace industry

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study -Bachelor and typically 14 or more years' related work experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):   

  • FEM analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment

  • 10+ years of experience with metal and composite

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.

Summary pay range (Level 5): $159,800 - $216,200
