Job Description:

The Strategy Consultant supports Southwest’s Corporate Strategy Team by leading high-level strategy development, delivering data-driven insights, and configuring impactful solutions. They’ll design and execute quantitative analyses, craft presentations with compelling storylines, and engage internal clients, aligning with project leadership before operating with a high degree of independence. The Strategy Consultant is a self-starter with an innovative mindset who looks forward to contributing to Southwest’s growth while developing and maintaining the Company's long-term strategy.

Responsibilities
- Collaboratively engage with numerous peers and Leaders across the Company to gather qualitative input, research relevant hypotheses, source data, etc., and maintain relationships across projects
- Design and perform high-quality, complex quantitative analyses based on conceptual input from project Team Leadership
- Rapidly develop deep knowledge of new topics by translating appropriate learnings from prior cases to new contexts
- Align insights from quantitative and qualitative project analyses with broader understanding of business and industry dynamics to develop recommendations
- Pose questions and offer perspectives to project Team members and Leadership to develop the overall project solution and associated recommendations
- Draft executive-ready presentations to communicate insights from analyses, often owning a “thread” of the overall storyline across multiple slides
- Present section(s) of the story in Sr. Leader and Executive meetings, and meaningfully contribute to discussions with insights from project experience
- Complete tasks with high level of independence, and work with project Team Leadership to determining next steps
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skilled at performing analysis in Excel and developing communications materials in PowerPoint and familiar with other tools, e.g., Word, Visio, etc.
- Skilled at working collaboratively on a project team environment
- Ability to communicate complex ideas concisely
- Ability to collect, organize, visualize and assimilate data including turning raw data into meaningful information using analytical tools and visualization software
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Experience
- Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Analytical problem solving
- Partnering with internal and external teams
- Communication through storytelling
- Synthesizing analyses to pull out insights
- Preferred: Experience in Project Strategy
- Preferred: Intermediate experience in Management Consulting
- Preferred: Aviation Experience
- Preferred: Previous experience at a large-scale Consulting Firm (Deloitte, PwC, Ernst & Young, KPMG, McKinsey & Company, etc.)
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 10 lbs.
Other Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $116,350 per year to $129,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
