Description
About Reserv
Reserv is an insurtech innovator building AI and automation solutions to simplify claims. Founded by industry veterans with deep experience in SaaS and insurance, we're backed by leading investors like Bain Capital and Altai Ventures. We're scaling fast — currently ~600 people — and we’re building the systems, infrastructure, and processes to support hypergrowth.
About the role
As an FP&A Lead, you’ll play a critical role in shaping Reserv’s financial future. You’ll lead financial planning, forecasting, and business performance analysis across the company — providing insights that drive strategic decisions and operational excellence. This is a high-impact role, reporting to the CFO and working directly with the executive & founding team, that sits at the intersection of Finance, Strategy, and Operations, ensuring that our leadership team has the data and perspective needed to fuel sustainable growth.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and modeling skills with the ability to translate financial insights into actionable recommendations: you must be comfortable operating in ambiguity by asking critical questions, piercingly drive to insight, and rapidly iterate. As the architect of all our financial plans, you will develop and pressure-test different financial scenarios and work with the executive team and the founding team to discuss and resolve trade-offs in budget, strategic plans, goals, and resourcing based on your analyses. You’ll thrive in ambiguity, enjoy building processes from the ground up, and be motivated by helping a fast-scaling company grow intelligently and efficiently.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience spanning banking or consulting and fast-growing startups, with advanced Excel and financial modeling skills and hands-on experience in functional finance.
What we need
We need you to do all the things typical to the role:
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, partnering with department heads to set realistic yet ambitious financial goals.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to evaluate growth, profitability, and key performance metrics. Expect frequent scenario modeling to game out and pressure-test evolving strategic projects
- Lead headcount and capacity planning in a production environment, aligning staffing models with workload forecasts and efficiency targets.
- Prepare and present monthly reporting packages to leadership, including variance analyses and commentary on business performance.
- Support strategic decision-making through scenario modeling, ROI analysis, and sensitivity testing on new initiatives.
- Act as a financial business partner to department leaders, providing insights to drive efficiency, resource allocation, and operational alignment.
- Track and analyze company KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. ● Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate month-end close and financial reporting.
- Contribute to the build-out of financial systems, dashboards, and automation tools to streamline FP&A processes.
- Drive process improvements to enhance forecasting accuracy, reporting timeliness, and data quality.
- Support ad hoc projects such as pricing strategy, capital planning, or fundraising analyses.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in Corporate Strategic Finance, within a dynamic, high-growth corporate environment — ideally one characterized by rapid change, operational complexity, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, key business drivers, and financial modeling best practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with FP&A tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Cube, Mosaic) preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders. ● Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a bias for action and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA/CFA a plus).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in insurtech, fintech, or SaaS companies.
- Background in multi-entity or global financial consolidation.
- Familiarity with SQL or BI tools (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI).
- Experience implementing financial systems or planning tools.
Benefits
- Generous health-insurance package with nationwide coverage, vision, & dental
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching

- Generous family leave policy after 8 months of continuous work
- Work from anywhere to facilitate your work life balance
- Apple or Windows laptop, large second monitor, and other quality-of-life equipment you may want. Technology is something that should make your life easier, not harder!
- High-end laptop (PC or Mac with Windows virtualized for MS version of Office suite), second monitor, and productivity tools & add-ons to help you excel.
- Opportunity to grow within a rapidly scaling fintech/insurtech organization and shape its financial future.
