Responsible for managing the accounting procedures and protection of all Golf Shop merchandise inventory and supplies, with daily oversight of the stock room operation. This individual works with the Head Golf Professional and other team members to ensure inventory is accurately checked in, ticketed and prepared to go onto the sales floor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 4 years related experience with merchandise and/or inventory
- Thorough knowledge of general business practices, retail sales and stock room practices and procedures as would be acquired through at least four years of similar experience. Must have previous merchandise and/or inventory experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Oversee procedures to receive, code, track and file all golf-related purchase orders and invoices. Return all merchandise invoices to the Head Golf Professional for approval and then to the accounting department according to established procedures
- Develop and maintain shrink management procedures and ensure proper training of all stockroom staff
- Ensure staff is following proper receiving invoicing and checking in procedures in all golf-related merchandise according to establish policies and procedures
- Maintain records on all RTV’s (return to vendors) and obtain appropriate return authorization (RA’s) and credits from vendors for merchandise returned
- Oversee and confirm accurate coding of invoices for payment verifying prices, quantities against purchase orders. Accurately mark all merchandise stored in the stock room for temporary, permanent or basic fill use
- In coordination with the Merchandise Manager, accurately, neatly, and continually check inventories in the stock room. Check par levels of all stock room merchandise
- Manage and administer stock room and golf shop inventories
- Assign team members to assist with inventory variance research
- Train, develop, and educate Golf Shop Staff in proper stock room ordering procedures
- Coordinate accurate tracking, check-in, invoice and charging of staff and member special orders. Communicate appropriately with the customer, Head Golf Professional or necessary personnel relative to each special order
- Create and maintain a professional, well managed stock room appearance
- Continually input and update purchase orders into the Buying Plan. Print and distribute monthly and/or daily change reports to the appropriate personnel if necessary. Coordinate any changes with the National Merchandising Department
- Assist with all golf-related merchandise relative to annual PGA TOUR related events or group outings
- Run standard inventory reports to confirm accuracy and existing product levels
- Special projects or other duties as assigned.
