Scope of Position

This talented, energetic, and motivated individual, as part of the operations support team, will be responsible for overseeing and organizing the equipment, staff, and processes on the stainless production floor. The position will also oversee scheduling and routine production activities, as well as acting as first-line troubleshooting should problems arise. This position is responsible for the supervision of approximately 9 hourly employees in the Stainless-steel department. This position reports to the Operations Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Oviedo, FL.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and delegate work assignments and directly supervise the plant staff to ensure the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with company quality requirements.
  • Plan production schedules, review component parts, and sub-assembly availability against build schedule.
  • Review parts shortages with purchasing and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Ensure the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the company’s standards for quality, quantity, and safety.
  • Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Assist in the completion of production orders, as needed, to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.
  • Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, and documentation, such as timecards, quality records, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental housekeeping standards and all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements in methods and processes to increase productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Company management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma and equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of supervisory/managerial experience in a production environment.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting
  • Self-starter and motivated to succeed
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including drug screening, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company’s Oviedo location in Orlando, FL. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Physical Requirements:

Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around the manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
