Staff Product Quality Engineer

Anduril’s Quality organization is seeking a Staff Product Quality Engineer to join our team. This leadership position will focus on driving improvement in our product quality in both the production process and supplier execution area of our Pulsar product.  You will work inside and outside the organization to define and execute processes that deliver reliable products and support the development of a robust manufacturing process control plan. The right person for this role has knowledge of manufacturing, product development, and continuous improvement as well as some experience with electronic warfare systems such as RF countermeasures, electromagnetic energy, electronic masking, probing, reconnaissance, and intelligence along with electronic security, emission control, spectrum management. WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Lead & deliver on quality improvement for production and supplier execution for existing Pulsar products. 
    • Lead & manage a small team of quality resources to address production execution and quality issues that impact delivery or product quality at our customer.
    • Own the elimination of product risk to improve quality & reliability across the product lifecycle. Engage in Quality activities from manufacturing to field use.
    • Partner with the Head of Production for priorities, opportunities, and investments to improve product quality in the production process.
    • Ensure the execution of product and process requirements. Define and improve such requirements. Partner with development engineering to insure incoming material inspection, process control plans, and end of line test capture the essential quality requirements for successful customer shipments.
    • Work cross-functionally to define and execute the production roadmap and performance to the product quality scorecard.
    • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities. Review the effectiveness of actions and share lessons learned across the product team.
    • Lead product health data analysis and improvement activities. Support customer quality issues and refurbishment testing and quality control.
    • Support the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System. Define and improve required documentation and support training & development for team members.
    • Support investigations, initiatives, and projects as needed, at the team or organization level which improve the overall product quality experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field
    • Experience managing a small team of engineers and specialists.
    • Working knowledge of AS9100 based Quality Management System requirements.
    • Experience working with RF and or electronic systems
    • Working knowledge and a learning capability for device specific function test for EW/RF products and the application of ESS/HASS.
    • Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
    • Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.
    • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense, automotive, medical device, or similar complex hardware.
    • A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.
    • Ability to obtain and hold a US Security Clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
    • Experience with IPC-610 & IPC -620
    • Experience with RF test systems, data collection, analysis, and optimization for production control
    • Defense, national security or RF communication systems familiarity through industry or education
    • Delivered electronics warfare, RF or electronics products into production
    • Active TS/SCI clearance
    • Experience with low volume, high complexity manufacturing
US Salary Range
$166,000$220,000 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
