Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Staff Hardware Engineer. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, CA and will support the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get to Do:
This position will join the Sentinel Program's Command and Control (C2) Hardware Engineering team in the investigation and selection of military-off-the-shelf (MOTS) and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products in satisfaction of system requirements.
Responsibilities will include a mix of the following dependent on priorities:
Conducts design, development, and testing of information processing hardware.
Analyzes architecture information, systems functional and performance requirements, and compliance documentation in developing technical procurement specifications for products
Conducts and analysis of alternatives in arriving at technology approach and vendor selection. Generate mitigation approach to requirements at risk and making trade recommendations.
Provides input into higher level system architecture development in areas that are targeted to leverage MOTS or COTS.
Assume role as Responsible Engineer facilitating internal execution of one or more products as well as primary responsibility on interfacing with external stakeholders relative to the product(s) or impacted by the product decisions.
May include formal status reporting responsibilities.
Peer review supporting design engineer control drawings.
May augment design engineer efforts in generation of control drawings and facilitation through the program life cycle management workflow.
Responsible for generating or contributing to contract deliverable documentation. Examples include technology refresh projection and other life cycle cost estimates, configuration method/procedures, and COTS manuals.
Support change proposal technical solution and estimate development.
Support modeling team hardware sizing and performance analyses.
Support testing of products

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree and 12 years of experience; 10 years with Master’s Degree; 8 Years with PhD; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Must have an active Secret DoD Clearance with an investigation within the past 6 years.
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Program Access (SAP).
Must have previous Department of Defense or Intelligence Community program experience in designing systems-of-systems comprised of military-off-the-shelf (MOTS) and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.
Must have past experience identifying and applying requirements from a breadth of Government and industry standards in evaluating COTS alternatives, particularly cyber security considerations and constraints.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience in generating CAD models of components and assemblies using tools such as Siemens NX.
Experience in the application of industry standards for mechanical modeling and engineering release such as ASME Y14.24.
Experience generating and releasing engineering artifacts into Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Siemens TeamCenter
Previous Sentinel experience hardware/mechanical design processes and principles, such as E110P and E275M
Existing SAP approval
