Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform semiconductor engineering research, design, development, and/or testing for firm products and/or devices for use in the electronic communication industry.
  • Work as part of a System IP team working on significant deliverables for the team.
  • Responsible for performance modeling and analysis, RTL correlation, and performance verification of mobile memory system designs.
  • Develop performance models to help define micro-architectural features of next-generation memory subsystems in areas including interconnects, DRAM controllers, caches, and quality of service.
  • Collaborate with architects to drive innovations through performance studies and explorations.
  • Develop tools to analyze performance data, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to improve end-to-end performance.
  • Engage with partners and customers to provide projections of key performance indicators on workloads of interest.
  • Develop methodology and testbench for performance verification, analyze correlation results, and interact with RTL & modeling teams to drive fixes into the design and the model.
  • May work from home on a hybrid scheduled within commutable distance of Austin and surrounding areas.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering or closely related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related occupation performing each of the following:

1. IP’s /Component performance modelling [C/C++ programming] and analysis;

2. Evaluating architectural trade-offs of performance, power, and area;

3. Debugging and resolving complex cross-IP performance issues;

4. Cache subsystem performance, Cache Coherence and Memory Consistency;

5. RTL simulation environments and debug tools;

6. CPU architecture and microarchitecture;

7. On-die interconnect protocols, microarchitecture and tradeoff evaluation;

8. Memory system architecture, design and performance.

Total Rewards

At Samsung – SARC/ACL, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $198,206.00 - $226,600.00. Your actual base pay will depend on variables that may include your education skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. This is an exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
