Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff COTS Hardware Technical Lead. This position will be located on-site in Roy, UT .

What You'll Get To Do:
The COTS Hardware Technical Lead will lead a cross-discipline team of Mechanical and Electrical engineers in the development of COTS hardware designs. The Technical Lead will define the technical vision for a team of design engineers and will be responsible for establishing sound technical rigor through process definition and process governance. The Technical Lead will provide senior engineering-level contributions and leadership for a wide-ranging suite of COTS electrical and mechanical components. The Technical Lead will define the approach for COTS Hardware selection in accordance with ASME Y14.24 standards and will refine and tailor established processes for use on the Sentinel program. The Technical Lead will drive the development of a mature design baseline in preparation for Critical Design Review and initial hardware procurement. The Technical Lead will provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers and is responsible for standardizing the training program for the Hardware team, as well as refining training on an ongoing basis to meet the team's needs. In addition to being an organizational leader for a team of engineers, the Technical Lead position will have a "Tech Lead" role in CPLM and will have authority to perform final design signoff. The Technical Lead will be responsible for ensuring that Hardware designs meet all applicable requirements and standards. The Technical Lead will be the Hardware team's primary technical POC to engineering stakeholders and will lead design coordination and negotiation with all applicable stakeholders. The Technical Lead will work closely with program management to drive execution against program schedule and milestones and should have a strong understanding of earned value concepts. The Technical Lead will work closely with senior IPT technical leadership including the Office of Chief Engineering to refine process definition and governance.

This position is located in Roy, UT with a standard 9/80 work schedule. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications:
• At least 12 years of relevant experience with Bachelors degree in STEM field; 10 years with Masters; 8 years with PhD
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
• At least 10 years of CAD experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
• At least 4 years of ICBM experience
• Experience with Systems Engineering concepts including requirements and architecture development, and tools such as DOORS and Cameo
• Experience with Common Product Lifecycle Management tools such as Siemens Teamcenter
• Experience with Nuclear Safety design requirements and constraints
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active S//SAR clearance for the Sentinel Program
• Experience with structural and stress analysis of mechanical components, including analysis of Abaqus models
• Experience with Pin-to-Pin analysis for electrical/electromechanical components
• Experience with physical security system hardware including Radar, Lidar, Cameras, and Motion Sensors
• Familiar with DoD 5210.41M standards as applied to physical security system design
• Experience with GD&T to the ASME Y14.5-2009 standards
• Experience with AFI 31-101 standards for physical security design
Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
