Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Automation Tools Engineer (Level 5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test & Evaluation organization. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.
In this role you will play a pivotal role in developing and integrating cutting-edge software solutions for mission-critical systems. You will collaborate with skilled professionals in System Engineering, Software Development, System Integration and Test, Operations and Maintenance, Change Management, and Documentation, focusing on verifying and validating advanced vehicle systems through extensive testing processes.

Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Design and develop software for multi-domain, multi-platform system integration laboratories, including specialized updates using LabVIEW.
Analyze customer requirements and generate technical solutions that meet schedule and cost constraints.
Present innovative ideas to stakeholders and collaborate in group settings.
Build high-quality software that adheres to coding standards and technical design.
Define, implement, and document system tests, and troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
Perform multiple platform system integration
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, prior to the commencement of employment.
Experience in software development with object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C++, C#, Python, LabVIEW)
Experience with automation and integration in a lab environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with software focus
Strong troubleshooting skills across multi-domain, multi-platform systems.
Active Top Secret Clearance and Program Access
Proficiency with multiple of the programming languages (e.g., C++, C#, Python, LabVIEW)
Experience with protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP) and hardware interfaces (e.g., as 1553, A429, 1394).
Experience developing OS agnostic software; familiarity with Linux environments
Experience with decomposition / comprehension of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) of varying complexity
